Derek drove off with Rachel.
Caleb put away his headphones and walked up to me.
I was still crouched on the ground, curled up in a little ball.
Both hands behind my back, hiding the little bulge under my skirt where my tail was.
Caleb stood very close.
I could smell his scent.
It was completely different from Derek’s.
His hormones were so strong they were practically an aphrodisiac for my kind.
I felt dizzy, lightheaded.
Caleb leaned down to look at me. "Lila, what can I do to get you to stop crying?"
Mmm, his voice sounded so nice.
How did I never notice how nice his voice was before?
My mind was a mess.
I really liked the way he said my name. Would his voice be even lower and more seductive when he kissed me?
My ears were getting restless again, about to pop out.
I hurriedly pressed them down.
But I was about to lose control.
I could only bite my lip and beg. My cheeks burned, and my mouth felt cotton-dry. I couldn’t believe what I was about to say. "I want a kiss."
