Chapter 8: The Hidden Cameras

That night, I bought small CCTV camera and installed them in the bedroom, parlour, kitchen—everywhere. As I dey fix camera, I pray quietly under my breath, 'God, no let my hand fail me today.' This desperation, only God fit understand.

Then I acted normal, still playing the loving husband, so they won’t suspect anything.

I lock door, set cameras, hide wires under carpet. I dey practice smile for mirror, rehearse voice, make sure say I no show sign.

Just as I expected, after small time, Morayo dropped her fake nice act and went back to her cold self. I pretended not to notice.

She dey chop alone, dey sleep early. I dey watch her every move, dey record everything for my phone.

After a few days, I decided to set trap for Morayo and Auwalu to meet.

I plan am well—give dem chance, make dem hang theirself.

“End of year don reach. TikTok Naija platform invite me for their annual top creator event. I never go out for two years—maybe I go try this one?”

I talk am for parlour, voice casual. My heart dey pound, but I act cool.

Morayo just dey press her phone, not even looking up. “Do as you like.”

She no even fake interest, just dey scroll Instagram.

I sneered inside, but put on a worried face. “But who go cook for you? If I travel, who go take care of you? Maybe I shouldn’t go.”

I dey test am—make she show small concern.

She finally looked up, frowning. “I be small pikin? If you want go, go. No use me as excuse.”

Her voice sharp, like say my presence dey irritate her. Na so my mind settle—she don set her plan.
