Chapter 7: The Price of Results
That matter cause serious wahala that time.
Principal wan sack Mr. Femi, but the academic head refuse, say even though his style get problem, his students dey enter top schools plenty.
I just laugh that time.
When more than half your class don drop because of depression, of course the rest go get high admission rate!
Some people support, some argue. They drag the matter all long holiday, principal head nearly burst. In the end, dem say Mr. Femi fit only teach subject, no fit be class teacher.
Rumour come fly, say na some powerful parent for board help am keep work. I no know how those parents even hear of person like him for this school.
But one thing sure:
No student for Class 3 go want Mr. Femi as class teacher.
I see principal eye, just twist my mouth.
"If na wetin parents want, I no get problem."
But as dem dey talk, every pot get him cover.
For my mind, I dey think, person wey never see Mr. Femi for action go soon understand say sugar no dey sweet pass honey.
If na Mr. Femi go be their class and maths teacher, e mean say this year, I no get place for graduating class.
Principal just talk with pain, "E never final yet. Academic office just dey try Mr. Femi for some classes, make dem see if students fit cope with his style..."
I hear small worry for his voice, "Make we just pray say this year, depression go reduce..."
I just smile and nod, no talk anything.
Principal waka go, look worried. I just close door, sit down, sip my iced coffee, relax, and continue my Nollywood film.
