Chapter 5: Game Night, Game Changer
I ignored her.
Instead, I quietly took a screenshot of Taylor and Drew’s sweet duo queue record.
Taylor saw I didn’t respond.
She amped up the flirting: "Drew, let’s go gank her, okay?"
So the two stuck together and camped me in mid twice.
Two minutes in, I was 0-2.
Taylor smugly said:
"Didn’t you show off your badges in the group? Your Angela is just so-so. Drew just picked a random gold-badge Han and made you look like trash."
I muted her messages.
Silently farmed.
But she wouldn’t let up.
Whenever she could, she’d tower dive to kill me, then recall at my corpse to taunt me.
Teammates all cursed me and surrendered.
I adjusted my mindset and started the next game.
Unexpectedly, I ran into them again.
This time, they were on my team.
The two did nothing but follow me—
Stole my gold and kills, blocked me from farming.
When I was killed by the enemy, they danced on my corpse to taunt me.
I queued three games in a row.
All three, I ran into them.
They were obviously stream-sniping me.
I looked at my rank, down three stars, sighed, and logged out.
At this moment, the team group popped up with messages.
Taylor transferred $80 to Drew.
She had just checked my account.
Saw I only had one new Sera skin.
She typed to mock me:
"You worked your butt off all night and only got a Sera skin, while I just casually spent $80. Jealous? Sam, why don’t you apologize to us now, and I’ll give you $10 for breakfast?"
Then, Drew transferred her $200.
"Taylor is totally different from those gold-diggers and sugar babies. You deserve the best in the world. I’ll buy all your skins from now on."
Taylor sweetly replied:
"Drew, you’re so nice, but no need. I can buy them myself. I’m not like some people—broke and short-sighted, destined to be broke forever."
The two flirted in the group:
Taylor: "Drew, you’re such a gentleman. Not like some people who’d sell out for a skin."
Drew: "Only the best for you, Taylor. The others can keep dreaming."
I quietly took screenshots.
Sneered in my heart.
Drew acted so generous.
But in my previous life, when his wife caused a scene, she made it clear he was a live-in son-in-law, living off his wife.
Since he likes to show off so much—
This time, I’ll make sure they’re utterly disgraced.
My fingers itched on the screenshot button, a sense of righteous anticipation brewing in my chest. This was going to be good—karma on group chat, the American way.
