Chapter 5: Truth or Dare Disaster

I instinctively wiped my mouth, my face burning.

Chase Milton's pale green eyes lingered on me, then flicked to the account name on my phone—'Fierce Tiger Top 1.' His brow twitched.

I quickly hid my phone behind my back.

I'd registered the same username as in my original world after coming here.

Luckily, he didn't say anything else and turned to leave.

Only then did I dare to breathe again.

The disgust in his eyes was obvious.

I couldn't help feeling a bit bitter.

But I quickly shook it off.

It's fine. Just hang in there for another year and then bolt.

I wandered outside for ages before reluctantly heading back to the dorm.

Once inside, I still didn't dare meet Chase Milton's eyes.

When it was nearly lights out, I was about to climb into bed.

Who knew Chase Milton was getting into bed at the same time, and we nearly bumped face to face.

He shot me a frosty look, then withdrew his hand first.

Looks like after finding out I'm gay, he wants even more distance.

In his eyes, I'm no different from something filthy.

Sure enough, an hour later, he swapped beds with another roommate.

We used to sleep on the same side of the room—now he moved diagonally across.

I secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

That's good. Before I leave this world, let's not have any more contact.

The next day, the dorm manager brought me some good news.

In a few days, a dorm will be vacated, and I can move in.

I suspected Chase Milton arranged it.

But I didn't dwell on it—it worked for me.

After class, the class president posted in the group chat: class party, karaoke and drinks.

I pushed open the private room door and saw Chase Milton sitting in the corner of the sofa, the light casting shadows across his already stunning face.

The other half of his face was in darkness, like a lurking beast.

I didn't expect Chase Milton to show up.

He didn't even glance at me, as if I was invisible.

I deliberately sat as far away from him as possible.

An hour later, it was time for Truth or Dare.

Chase Milton was picked for a question.

"Have you ever liked anyone?"

I shook my head to myself.

Before the system left, it told me this boss was cold-blooded—incapable of love.

But when Chase Milton's voice drifted over, I froze.

"Mm."

Mm?

Chase Milton likes someone?

Who?

Could the system have been wrong?

Even though I was scared of Chase Milton, I couldn't help being nosy. I sneaked a peek at him.

Everyone started to egg him on.

"Who is it?"

"Yeah, is it someone from our school?"

"What do they look like?"

A gentle look softened Chase Milton's eyes, the corners of his mouth lifted. "A very sweet..."

"Girl."

A very sweet girl?

Now I was even more curious—who?

Did he fall for someone after coming here, or has he always had someone in mind and the system just didn't know?

But Chase Milton clammed up, lips sealed, not revealing another word.

The game went on. A few rounds later, I drew a punishment slip: put on a blindfold and randomly kiss someone present.

Everyone would shuffle seats and form a circle.

I was speechless.

I'm gay. If I kiss a girl, isn't that unfair to her?

So I figured I'd just peck someone's cheek—quick and harmless.

Blindfold on, everything went dark. I could only go by scent.

The karaoke room stank of spilled beer and cheap cologne, neon lights pulsing against the sticky floor. After a few steps, I caught a whiff of bergamot cologne.

As far as I knew, Chase Milton didn't wear cologne.

Let's pick this person—as long as it's not Chase Milton, I'm safe.

Like a koala, I hugged the person tightly.

Their breathing seemed to quicken.

Embarrassed, I apologized: "Sorry."

My hand groped, found their cheek. I tiptoed up and aimed for a quick kiss...

But the person dodged a little, turning their head at the last second. Instead of their cheek, my lips landed somewhere soft and warm.

Smack.

The room was hot and loud, but under the blindfold, it was just me and the faint scent of bergamot and laundry detergent. I kissed their mouth.

The room went dead silent for a moment, then all hell broke loose with shouts and whistles. I felt my cheeks go hot as a Fourth of July sparkler.
