Chapter 7: Forever Starts With Us
Later, within a year, Chloe and Tyler got married too—still acting like a pair of happy frenemies.
Their wedding was loud and chaotic, full of laughter and playful bickering. I couldn’t stop smiling.
And from time to time, Chloe would come hang out with me.
She’d show up with coffee and gossip, always ready to brighten my day.
Because of it, Julian worried nonstop.
He’d peek in on us, pretending to look for his keys, but I knew he was just making sure Chloe wasn’t plotting anything wild.
One day, I heard Julian ask Tyler, “Are you sure Chloe doesn’t like women?”
He whispered it, but I caught every word. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing.
Tyler was stunned, then quickly replied, “Of course not. Chloe and Savannah are just best friends.”
He looked genuinely alarmed, waving his hands for emphasis.
Julian shot him a look. “Better be.”
He narrowed his eyes, but I could see the smile hiding at the corners of his mouth.
At that moment, Chloe was peeling fruit for me. “Sis, try this—it’s sweet.”
She handed me a slice of peach, her eyes shining with mischief.
I paused, looked into her clear eyes, and smiled. “Okay, you have some too.”
We clinked our fruit slices together like a toast, laughing.
After that, we stayed good friends for life.
Through every season, every milestone, we stuck together—family, friends, and a love that felt like home.
