Chapter 6: Promoted by a Reluctant Prince
I scratched my head.
The new show’s male lead was Carter.
With his status, taking this role was a step down.
I couldn’t figure it out.
So, when we discussed the script, I just asked him directly, “Why are you even doing this show?”
Carter looked confused: “?”
As soon as I said it, I realized something was off.
Still haven’t figured out human conversation.
Let me try again.
“What makes this show worthy of you?”
He sighed in relief. “Sometimes, the things you say are kind of scary.”
He flipped a page, saying, “I invested in this show. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to film it.”
I nodded. Solid reason.
Once the cast was announced, the fans went to war again.
My manager said, “Lots of hate. Do something.”
Me: “Huh?”
Last time she said don’t delete comments.
I only have so much brainpower—I can’t keep up with her logic.
Seeing Carter’s fans cursing mine, I jumped in the comments: “Don’t curse her!”
Seeing my fans curse Carter’s fans, I kept it fair: “Don’t curse her!”
Carter followed my lead, mediating in the comments.
That day, we trended: #LeadsStepInToStopFanWars
My manager wanted to scold me, but after seeing the trending topic, she swallowed her words.
She praised me: “You’ve really got a knack for PR.”
