Chapter 4: The Secret That Shook the Nation
Just as Calvin returned home, dejected, he was shocked by what he saw.
He pushed open the door, expecting silence. Instead, he heard the sound of sobbing from the corner. He followed the noise, heart pounding in his chest.
Lillian was crouched in the corner, holding a piece of tin foil, completely absorbed.
Her hands shook as she worked, eyes glazed and unfocused. The room smelled faintly of chemicals, sharp and bitter. Calvin’s stomach dropped.
On the foil was a pile of white powder!
The realization hit him like a freight train. Drugs. Addiction. The truth he’d never wanted to see.
Calvin collapsed to the floor in disbelief.
He fell to his knees, hands covering his mouth. The world tilted, the truth crashing down around him. Everything he thought he knew was a lie.
Savannah shot to her feet and screamed, “No way!!”
Her voice was raw, desperate. She stared at the screen, shaking her head, refusing to believe what she saw. The chat exploded, people shouting, crying, arguing.
The entire country was stunned. For a whole minute, not a single comment appeared in the chat—everyone was in shock.
It was as if the world had stopped spinning. The truth was out, and nothing would ever be the same.
Then, the chat exploded, nearly crashing the entire site!
Messages flew by—questions, accusations, theories. The story had changed in an instant, and everyone wanted to know what happened next. The past wasn’t what anyone thought, and for the first time, the nation was ready to listen.
And for the first time in years, I wasn’t afraid of what came next.
